    BAR Z | DESERT ABODE

    To hear the designer tell the story of this house, would be to understand how a simple bougainvilla plant growing over an arched entry beckoned her to take a look inside. The rest is a tale of real estate and a love of Spanish architecture. Behind the brightly blooming bougainvilla, the original home's interior left much to be desired. Dark, heavy and dated interiors made the space feel stifled and cramped. But, Adrienne Blacker, of Adrienne Blacker Designs, was able to see beyond the current situation and imagine a refreshed home; one that pays hommage to the original Spanish architecture, while also incorporating more timeless finishes with an overall lighter and brighter look.  This was a labor of love and a long-time coming - as Adrienne worked to practically rebuild the house from the inside, out. I had the opportunity to meet up with her, mid-project. To see a video of what it looked like "in progress" click here. Opening up some walls, lifting ceilings, reconfiguring spaces and adding new windows are just a few of the upgrades. Outside, a new pool, new patio spaces, new driveways, and smooth stucco give the old shell a renewed life.  Siena Koppelman and I had the honor of bringing this to market in January of 2024. No suprise... closed it in two weeks. Listed at $5.499M, closed at $5.619M.   E X T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  B A C K  Y A R D   I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  K I T C H E N   I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  L I V I N G  R O O M   I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  F O R M A L  D I N I N G    I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  R E A D I N G  R O O M   I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  F L E X  S P A C E - M E D I A  R O O M   I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  O F F I C E   I N T E R I O R  S P A C E S  |  M A S T E R  S U I T E  P H O T O  C R E D I T  |  E R I C  K R U K  @erickrukphoto on instagram

    LAKESIDE LANE

Step through the front door, and you'll behold one of the most awe-inspiring views of Camelback Mountain.     Locals say it's a sight that never grows old: the colors of the rocks change with the sun's angle, especially at the magical moment of sunset, when the mountain turns mauve.     This turn-key home, remodeled less than 5 years ago, is bathed in natural light from floor to ceiling windows and oversized glass pivot doors. Slump block construction, typical of Arizona's mid-century era, adds interesting texture. Main living spaces and bedrooms are found on the main level. A generous flex space and one bedroom and bathroom are on the lower level.   Low maintenance landscaping helps spur a more carefree lifestyle and the guard-gated entry means peace of mind - whether you're a full-time or seasonal resident. With architectural character preserved, which is so rarely found these days, we invite you to take a walk through this amazing property, and be captivated by the beauty of desert living in Clearwater Hills.   More info on Lakeside Lane
